?A top-flight cast gives depth and conviction ... to this anguishing thriller.? ? Hollywood Reporter

The title proposes that, in our society, the lives of the rich are worth far more than the lives of the rest of us. A cyclist is run off the road by a careening SUV the night before Christmas Eve in Northern Italy. As details emerge of the events leading up to the accident, the lives of the ?ealthy Bernaschi family will intertwine with the Ossolas, who are struggling to hang on to their middle-class life. Meanwhile, as the mystery deepens, the Ossolas? teenage daughter’s relationship with hedge-fund manager Bernaschi’s playboy son twists an already simmering interplay of romance, class and ambition into a complex, thrilling true-life story. Subtitled.
