BT-16. Closing Night + Awards Ceremony: Racing Extinction

USA/China/Hong Kong/Indonesia/Mexico/United Kingdom, Feature Documentary, 2015, 90 min

Scientists predict we may lose half the species on the planet by 2100, and that we have entered the sixth major extinction event in Earth’s history. Number five took out the dinosaurs, but this time we are the asteroid. We?re the last generation remaining that can stop our callous worldwide destruction of irreplaceable life. This exciting and highly anticipated film follows activists with covert cameras, who risk everything by stalking shark-fin hunters, illegal wild animal traders, factory feedlots that spew illegal methane by the ton and restaurants that serve endangered species as highly expensive delicacies. These superhero activists also reveal the vast, undetected, ocean-killing phenomenon that the oil and gas companies don?t want us to see.
