Andy Palmer

Andy Palmer

Palmer’s distinctively gritty vocals and hard luck tales have garnered him favorable comparisons to Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, and Leonard Cohen. Westword lists his music as some of “Denver’s Best,” calling it “timeless” and “epic”. Last September, Palmer headlined the TEDx Boulder event. Also that month, two of Palmer’s songs won the Colorado Music Business Organization’s songwriting contest. In addition, his music has been featured in multiple independent films. Following Palmer’s notable successes, producer Warren Huart (Aerosmith, The Fray) hand-selected Palmer to work with and produced Hazard of the Die, his sophomore CD, which The Troubadour’s Road calls "simply one of the best albums of 2013.”

Scott Dale

Scott Dale

Scott Dale is a rising singer-songwriter living in Boulder, CO where he has been part of the scene since the late 70's. Scott's Oklahoma roots are evident in his skillful songwriting and guitar playing but his album-rock heritage tips the genre a bit more toward rock than country. Flavors of the 1970’s L.A. music scene lace Scott’s music- influences from Jackson Browne, Neil Young, Poco, Lyle Lovett, The Eagles, and even a little Led Zeppelin. Even if you are not a country listener but don’t mind getting a little mud on your boots every now and then, then you’ll love his music.

Mer Sal of The Symbols

The Symbols by Benjamin Kohl RialtoThe Symbols are a female fronted trio exploding out of the Colorado music scene. Self described as "Spiritual porn rock", The Symbols aren't trying to blend in with their musical montage of pop, rock, funk, and blues. The Symbols have released 3 EP length CDs, and are currently recording another one. Vocalist-bassist Mer Sal has a musical maturity beyond her 22 years. Mer’s solid grooves enhance her emotive persona. Jasco’s guitar sings with passion or screams with fury as he squeezes drops of soul from bent strings while style-surfing. Mostly though, it’s about the songs.

Otis Taylor & Friends

Otis Taylor in Bear Skin

To call Taylor a cutting edge artist is an understatement. Although his music is based in the blues and folk realm, his meticulously crafted recordings crash the barriers of jazz, rock, funk, Americana and myriad other genres to create a hybrid that Taylor labels “trance blues.” And that signature style serves as a backbone for his frank tales of struggle, freedom, desire, conflict and, of course, love. Taylor has had songs placed in films including The Shooter, Public Enemy and The Badge and he scored the documentary Purvis of Overtown in which he also appeared. Taylor is a Class of 2000 Sundance Fellow.
