Australia, Feature Documentary, 2021, 96 min

Winner of a Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award

So how on earth did four rural refugees who escaped starvation and tyranny in Zimbabwe become top sommeliers in South Africa? With their charismatic personalities, they get jobs as waiters in the top restaurants in Cape Town, where they learn to love and describe the joyous complexities of great wine. Highly respected by the local wine cognoscenti, they are encouraged to enter the World Wine Tasting Championship in France as the first-ever contestants from Zimbabwe. When they arrive in France to compete, the team turns an old establishment of privilege and tradition on its head. A truly uplifting documentary that celebrates just how irrepressible the human spirit can be. Subtitled.
