A nomadic population in Northern Mongolia, the home of Genghis Khan and the last, vast remnant of a world without law, Darhat are famous for their breeding of powerful white horses. But theft is common in this region, where horses are worth a fortune and often trigger epic chases through the grand landscape. When his champion white stallion disappears, Shukhert risks his life to pursue the bandits and bring his beloved steed back in time for winter. From Buddhism to Shamanism, from horses to reindeer, from hunters to gold prospectors, Shukhert’s journey is full of encounters that celebrate the mosaic of a secret and complex region crossed by multiple ethnic and economic tensions.
