SUMMARY:Coextinction (GC-03)
DESCRIPTION: Coextinction (GC-03)\nat 22nd Annual Boulder Film Festival 2023\nCanada\, Feature Documentary\, 2021\, 94 min\n\nBeautiful and majestic\, the last remaining 73 orcas off the British Columbia coast are also capable of heartbreaking ritual upon the death of a pup. These Southern Resident orcas are critically endangered\, partly because of dammed-up Canadian rivers\, and now an even worse threat: a giant oil-pipeline terminal that will fill the orcas’ small ocean strait with huge oil tankers from all over the world. Two female filmmakers fight alongside Indigenous leaders and scientists to protect the orcas\, their interconnected and collapsing ecosystem\, and human life in the Pacific Northwest. No species goes extinct in isolation.\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, March 3\, 2023\, 2:45 pm\nGrace Commons Church\nInfo & Trailer: http://m.biff1.com/event.php?event=825\nTickets: https://boxoffice.biff1.com/schedule/63e41967e061580098464744
