HS-01. Patriocracy

USA, Feature Documentary, 2011, 87 min

Five-time Emmy Award winner Brian Malone earned the trust of politicians and pundits on both sides of the aisle to examine the current all-time low point in American politics. As the U.S. enters the 2012 election season, political polarization will reach historic levels, creating the most expensive and ugly election season in American history. The cause?extreme right and extreme left forces?are ripping apart the middle ground in America, holding American democracy hostage. Today, money, power and ideology govern America, not its people. And we as Americans have no real chance of solving the problems we face together unless we can move beyond hyper-partisan zealots and yelling heads. Patriocracy looks for the true causes of the extreme polarization that paralyzes America and ways to address those challenges.
