Rhino Man

US/South Africa, Feature Documentary, 2023, 98 min

We follow Anton Mzimba, the passionate, incorruptible head ranger of the Timbavati in South Africa, and legendary trainer Ruben Dekock as they protect endangered rhinos and train a group of hopeful ranger candidates competing for one of the most rigorous and dangerous jobs on the planet. It is a tense, heart-pounding job…each day facing the heavily-armed poachers sent by the $20-billion-a-year rhino-horn syndicate. It's a race to inspire the next generation to care for the rhinos, and the natural world, before poachers and habitat loss wipe out one species after another. Anton’s friend, William, Prince of Wales, has spearheaded an international effort to save endangered animals, and now there is a UN-led global initiative to protect 30% of the planet for endangered species by 2030.
