Under the Wire

UK, Feature Documentary, 2018, 95 min

Marie Colvin was the most admired war correspondent of our generation. The New Yorker

You probably remember Marie Colvin, the witty, sharp-tongued reporter, from her eye patch. (She lost one eye covering the Sri Lankan Civil War.) Colvin’s reporting was powerful as she focused on what happens when bullets strike and bombs explode, and the fate of women and children under siege, starving or fleeing. She took great risks to document the horror of war at the heart of it, and she paid for it with her life...shortly after a live TV interview with Anderson Cooper in Homs, Syria. This film's greatest asset is its narrator, Paul Conroy, her long-time reporting partner, who was himself badly injured by the blast that killed Colvin.
